Bowyliss Story

I created Bowyliss after a year of personal struggle. Filled with anxiety and not knowing how to move forward, I started taking daily walks, listened to podcasts, read, and did guided meditations. I let my curiosity move me. Instead of taking frantic action get out of these uncomfortable situations, I sat with everything. I calmed my nervous system and reprogrammed limiting beliefs. Eventually, I heard my internal voice that knew things in advance. I was still and listened, and took the daily action from my heart space instead of my anxious mind. Serendipitously, I came across the science and evidence to support the concepts I was learning about in my journey, helping me make more sense of how understanding and connecting to myself enables connection to a greater underlying source of knowledge. Most importantly, it gave me permission to believe. I don’t have the answers, but I have endless curiosity to delve deeper, and I want to continue to share the journey and pique your curiosity.

Bowyliss emerged from an inkling that became a louder call over time. I’ve combined my passions, curiosity, knowledge, and skill-set in science, leadership, public health, mental health, and community. My background is grounded with a BSc in Pharmacology, and I was introduced to the leadership principles of understanding oneself through my Master of Public Health degree. I honed my skills while learning about the role of community and giving back through my leadership roles at the Junior League of San Diego. My combined experiences led me to my role at Inlight Institute, where I delved into the importance of values and purpose in strengthening mental health.

For those curious about the name Bowyliss, it has special meaning as it is a combination of my kids’ names.
